Postcard Collection:
Historical Significance
The exhibit of Traveling with Miss Agnes Scully not only is an inside glimpse of a historic North Adams resident, but the postcard collection also shows evidence of historic preservation. Many of the photos on the postcards are building and places that still exist in the present day.

Albany was declared the State capital in 1797. The Capitol was built between 1867 and 1899. Three teams of architects worked on the design of the Capitol during the 32 years of its construction. During Agnes Scully's time, the Albany State Capitol would have been a remarkably new building. It still stands today.
Dear Agnes,
I got to New York this morning and going to Coney Island this afternoon. Hope you are all well, will write soon.
