Description

A woman, a boy and a man stand around a piano. Although the window in the room looks out on a modern (for the 1890's) building flying an American flag, the man is dressed like someone from the 18th century. Text on the front: "The first music lesson/Estey Piano Co./manufacturers/New York." Text on the back: "The Estey Piano establish-/ment, located in New York,/and occupying three large build-/ings, is the moste noted structure/yet erected for the development/of this branch of musical in-/dustry. There is no doubt that/the Estey Piano marks a new/era in the manufacture of Piano/Fortes. This is the first and/only upright that has the large/grand repeating action, by/means of which all of the/wonderful capacity of the grand/piano is fully developed in the/upright./This house naturally takes/pride in presenting this, the/most important invention in the/piano industry. The great/success in the construction of/the Estey Piano, is due to/many years of careful study/and practical experience./For all information, cat-/alogue, etc., write to or call on" Stamped on the back: "From/W.S. Underwood,/1 Holden St./North Adams, Mass."
