Description

Second in a series of four cards. A young girl looks on in horror as a little boy falls into a well. He is holding a bar of Acme soap. Text on the front: ""Use Acme soap"/Oh dear, Willie will be drowned." The card is marked 2, center bottom. Text on the back: "Ask for Lautz Bros. & Co's pure and healthy soaps. No so-called greases of adulterating material used in manufacturing them./ H. W. Clark & Co. Wholesale grocers, and commission merchants, 8, 9 & 10 Blackington Block, North Adams, Mass./Ask for Niagara Starch, the purest, the sweetest, the best." The printer is identified as The Major & Knapp Lith. Co. NY on the front, lower right. Note: H.W. Clark & Co. was located in the Blackinton, not Blackington, block.
